Imagination in your Nutshell

You create a pool of imagination, you create your own little story, and you imagine that things will happen just as they exist in your head. You plot and plan, you think thoroughly, you let your imagination run leaps and bounds, you cross all boundaries and borders and forget reality. You create a fantasy in your head thinking of how perfect and immaculate it is. How flawless it is for you, how you wouldn’t change a single thing.

When you are closed in your own nutshell you think everything will go according to plan. You think nothing can go wrong. You dream that if certain things happen you will be happier, you will be fulfilled, you will be satisfied, and you think that this is the one thing or person you need to fill that empty hole, to complete you. You think this is what’s missing, that if you get hold of it, nothing can stop you from eternal happiness.

What happens when it is your lucky day, you finally get hold of the thing you were rooting for, the thing you coveted the most, you finally have a chance at quenching your thirst, but now what? Things don’t go as imagined. You are there, the situation is there, the opportunity is there, so what’s stopping you? Why isn’t it like you had imagined in your head, why isn’t the magic there, why isn’t it as perfect as you had envisioned. Why do you feel dumbfounded, why is it that you have no idea what to do? Why does it feel as if you have hit a dead end? Why do you feel blank? You have everything planned yet you don’t know what to do next, you plotted your moves but forgot that someone else is yet to plot their’s. A game is always played between two, you mustn’t let your opponent have the upper hand because once they do, you go spiralling down into a deep dark pit. Your heart starts beating fast and you want to run away, you think that this was a mistake. Why? It’s because you forgot the fine line between reality and fantasy. You forgot that the real world has boundaries, that there are restrictions, that we can dream but we must always remember.

Yet you are still there, you still have a chance so what do you do? Well, you make it work. You work with what you have; you make the most out of it. You take a deep breath, convince yourself that you have this, raise your head and keep motoring on. You just can’t stop because if you do, you lose and the game ends but we want the game to go on till the very end and in the end even if you do lose you will know that it isn’t so bad after all. You had a great deal of experiences; you learnt more than you could if you had won. You realize that there is no such thing as eternal happiness and you work on achieving bursts of euphoria, you live for those tiny moments where you enjoy and feel unconditionally happy. Some things are best left unplanned, sometimes we shouldn’t expect, with no expectations there are no disappointments. You keep fighting and you know that in the end, lose or win, victory is always yours, the key is to keep it simple and real.
