Call me a Teacher

Call me a teacher, if I burn my nights for your kids. Call me a teacher if I sacrifice my sleep to plan something good for your kid. I get tired, but call me a teacher if my smile makes your kid grin. I fight with this world too but call me a teacher if your kid doesn’t even come to know about my griefs and cheers when I speak. I face unfathomable snags too, I have a family, I want to spend time with my friends, watch a movie alone, play with my kids, but call me a teacher if I touch your kid’s heart with my unselfish questions. I am forgotten by the society, considered someone doing something that anyone can be done by anyone, but call me teacher if I approach your striving kid, hold his finger and make him independent learner. I am greeted occasionally and my exertion is rewarded with peanuts, but call me a teacher if I try my best to make your kid thoughtful without thinking about the peanuts. I am expected to be model, but I am human, I am expected to be like saints and prophets but I may commit mistakes, but call me teacher if I remain pure, share my experiences whether good or bad with your kid and inspire him with my example. But you know all say I am teacher but none of my students want to become a teacher just because they believe they will get lesser peanuts than in any other profession, so call me a teacher if I could prepare one student to be a teacher like me and gifted tor the society. I myself do not know about my future, every morning, I wake up with some plans and goals and not sure whether they will work or not, but call me a teacher when I lit the lamps of hope and love in your kid’s eyes. Call me a teacher if I remove the barriers, call me teacher if I make your kid an explorer to reconnoiter the enigmas of nature and life. Call me a teacher if I console those who wanted to be excellent but couldn’t do well and rebuild their valor to learn from failure and strive again.

You will never know how much lethargic I feel, you do not have any idea how difficult is this work. I was born for great things but fate brought greatest thing for me. You do not have any idea how much energy it takes to make your kid learn and understand, but call me teacher if I never complained and acted professional like a surgeon because fate brought the greatest things for me. Call me a teacher if I altruistically go out of the boundary and bring something innovative for your kid. Call me a teacher if you see your kid inspired by my talk, my actions, my debates and my example, only then call me a teacher.

Call me a teacher when I fling myself aside and live for your kids. So, call me a teacher when you kid perkily tells what he explored in my presence, call me a teacher when you find something in your kid that you couldn’t teach, call me a teacher when you see your child asking big questions because I made him that audacious, call me teacher, if your kid questions your social norms and beliefs because I made him a free bird and told him the worth of truth and value of self-esteem and self-belief. Call me teacher when you find your kid helpful to others because I taught him how to be a good social animal not just a social animal. Call me teacher, when your find your kid telling you the big ideas and suggesting you how to improve or innovate because I told him that his time is much more advance than mine and his parents’, Call me teacher, when you see your kid not compromising on humanity and integrity because I taught him how to live in history with integrity, no matter what. Call me a teacher if your kid holds his younger sibling when she falls because I taught to hold the weak. Call me a teacher when he respectfully argues with you because I told him that difference of opinion should not be slaughtered in favor of love, and the loved ones can have different opinion so learn how to live in diversity and with tolerance.

You cannot reward me, except giving me some more peanuts to survive but call me a teacher and I will live my life with pride. Just call me a teacher.
