We talk about changing the world. Our education here teaches us that we only need to try hard enough, and everything will be within our reach. Peace, harmony, unity – everything can be ours if we try hard enough. We make lofty claims. We tell each other that we can do this. Then it’s times like these that strike us speechless. No amount of theorising, of hope, could have prepared us for this violence that took away several who never meant any harm. Who had only gathered in remembrance and grief. That is all we, too, can do at this moment, to gather in remembrance and grief. God has forgiven them, but today we must pray for our own forgiveness. Let us pray for deliverance, and for the strength of those families, and for hope.
ChaiChalk stands in solitude with the families of those who were martyred or injured in the suicide bombings in Jacobabad.
ChaiChalk also arranged a small dua/vigil at LUMS to pray for Jacobabad. Here are some of the emotions that were witnessed.
